Stainless Steel Capscrews

Hex Socket Stainless Capscrews are the most common type of Stainless Socket Screw used. They have a cylindrical head with high straight sides and a six sided hex recess for use with an allen key or hex driver tip.


What types of Stainless Steel Capscrews are available?

Stainless Steel Hex Socket Capscrews in metric are made to standard Din 912. Other options include Countersunk Socket Screws made to Din 7991, Button Head Hex Socket Screws made to standard ISO 7380 and Grubscrews or Socket Head Setscrews made to standard Din 916.


What strength of Stainless Steel Capscrews are available?

Most stainless steel capscrews are made to a minimum tensile strength of 700MPa (marked A2-70 or A4-70 on metric sizes), though some are made to 800 MPa tensile strength (marked A4-80 or Bumax 88). The strongest stainless steel capscrew ‘off the shelf‘, is the Bumax 109 stainless steel capscrew which is made to a tensile strength of 1000 MPa.
