When using a washer to maximise surface area and reduce the risk of pull out, size does count.  Whether you are fitting tracks/winches or fittings to the deck of your Yacht or other applications a decent Stainless Fender Washer is important.  Often available are 1-1/4” (32mm) O.D Penny Washers, which are great for moderate load applications.  However Penny Washers are made from 1.6mm sheet and for heavy loadings, particularly behind GRP or Timber, a heavier washer might be required.
