What are Stainless Steel Threaded Inserts, Nutserts or Rivnuts?

Stainless Steel Threaded Inserts, also called Stainless Steel Rivnuts and Stainless Steel Nutserts are stainless nuts which are used to create a female thread in thin sheetmetal or tube. They are installed by pre-drilling the sheet or tube, inserting the rivnut and then compressed with a Threaded Insert Tool to lock the nut in place.

What types of threaded inserts or rivnuts are there?

Threaded Inserts, also called Rivnuts or Nutserts are available in Stainless Steel and Aluminium. They are available in a hex shape (to lock in place), a sealed end or standard type with either a flanged or rimless head
