What are the different stainless steel grades for stainless steel fittings?

Different stainless steel grades are required for different applications.  Grade 304 stainless steel is commonly used for general purpose applications where medium corrosion resistance is required.  However grade 316 stainless should be used in coastal applications or in contact with food.  For highly corrosive environments such as being submerged in sea water, higher grade grades of stainless steel should be used such as Super Duplex 2507. Stainless steel guidelines should be followed in both design and maintenance and cleaning of stainless steel.
