Stainless Piano Hinges are much lighter than butt hinges and are sold in six foot lengths (1830mm). They are identified by its width (when fully open) x thickness (measured in gauge) x overall length.

Designed to be fitted to the body and/or lid of an object, stainless piano hinge are used in applications where the materials being joined are designed to have the load spread over the total length of the join as opposed to two or three points with a butt hinge.
